America's Capital

On 31st July we went to Washington DC by Amtrak train.

We went on a huge bike ride and the place we rented it from was called Bike n Roll.  On the bike ride we stopped at the White House, the Lincoln Monument, Capital Hill (which is the American Parliament house) and the "Needle" which is actually the National Monument and it looks like a really tall, fat needle.  We saw heaps of squirrels , went on the carousel and saw people playing soccer and American Grid Iron.

We went to three museums and they were called the Air & Space, Natural History and the Native American Museums.

My favourite part of the Air and Space Museum was the Air section.  We got to go inside some planes, we saw the Wright Brothers plane which was made out of material and it was first plane to fly. Dad bought some space food, an icecream sandwich and it tasted disgusting.

We went into the butterfly house, saw heaps of dinosaur and animal bones at the Natural History Museum.
